Does your child suffer from low self-esteem?

Low self esteem can have devastating consequences in the life of a teenager including depression, difficulty with relationships, earlier sexual activity, drinking alcohol and taking drugs to feel better or feeling sad, anxious or angry a lot of the time.

Hopefully, the teenagers in your life aren’t in this situation but you’d still like to foster in them independence, maturity, and taking pride in their accomplishments. You’d like to see them be able to accept frustration and deal with it responsibly (a necessary trait in life). You’d like to try new things, and help others when possible.

In today’s video, I’ll give you one simple strategy to help with this. But remember, simple is not always easy. You may need to retrain yourself in how to respond and that takes time. Be patient with yourself and enjoy seeing the light come on in the eyes of those you love!

You got this!

All the best,
Terri
